Refund Policy

Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a digital service within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason. This is your statutory cancellation right.

However, by accessing and using the service immediately after purchase, you acknowledge that we begin providing the service before the 14-day period ends. In this case, your statutory right to a full refund may be affected by the extent to which you have used the service.

• First payment: if you request a refund within 14 days of your first Pro Monthly charge and have not made substantial use of Pro features, we will refund the full amount
• Subsequent monthly charges: we do not offer refunds on renewal charges — you can cancel at any time before your next renewal date to avoid future charges
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain Pro access until then

• You may request a full refund within 14 days of your first payment if you have not made substantial use of Pro features
• "Substantial use" means generating more than 3 AI exam papers, 5 revision notes, or completing more than 3 marked papers
• After 14 days, or after substantial use, the annual payment is non-refundable, but you can cancel before your next renewal to avoid future charges

We consider use to be substantial if you have:

• Generated more than 3 AI exam papers
• Generated more than 5 revision or study notes
• Submitted more than 3 papers for AI marking
• Accessed more than 5 pre-built practice papers

In borderline cases, we will use our discretion fairly in your favour.

Email legal@studycoachai.co.uk with:

• Your account email address
• The date of purchase
• The reason for your refund request (optional but helpful)

We will respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

The free plan has no payment associated with it — there is nothing to refund. You can delete your account at any time from account settings.

If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using the service, please contact us at legal@studycoachai.co.uk before requesting a refund. In most cases we can resolve issues quickly. If the issue is on our side and cannot be resolved, we will consider a pro-rata refund for the affected period.

If you initiate a chargeback with your bank without contacting us first, we reserve the right to suspend your account pending investigation. We encourage you to contact us directly — we are always happy to resolve issues fairly.
